The Commander Guy

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

Isn’t it interesting how politicians that love to name others flip-flopper flip-flop very easily themselves?

It’s time to play the Qaeda card.
In a speech about Iraq yesterday morning at the Willard Hotel, the president mentioned Osama bin Laden’s group — 27 times. “For America, the decision we face in Iraq is not whether we ought to take sides in a civil war, it’s whether we stay in the fight against the same international terrorist network that attacked us on 9/11,” Bush told a group of construction contractors.
…
The man who four years ago admitted “no evidence” of an Iraqi role in the Sept. 11 attacks now finds solid evidence of a role in Iraq by the Sept. 11 hijackers.

We all know that he just vetoed a bill and threatens to veto another one because it includes unacceptable language restricting funding. But isn’t it time to get real and face the problems we have at home?

  • The tornadoes in Kansas and the missing guards for the cleanup
  • Rising health care costs
  • Rising mortgage costs
  • Rising unemployment

to name just a few. But I guess he is just too busy with whining about improper language and being the Commander Guy. It’s an old saying that running a successful foreign war will keep the peoples mind of the domestic problems.

But this war is everything than successful. And the violence in Iraq reaches new heights every week.

Maybe it’s time to veto the Commander guy?

Oh and did I mention that he doesn’t like the press?

Bush delivered a less-than-ringing endorsement of the First Amendment, calling freedom of the press “just something that we’ve all got to live with.”

Can’t wait to hear what he has to say about bloggers!

Can you?
