One judge in Bear’s clothing allowing him to attend the Super Bowl.

Bill Plaschke from the Los Angeles Times:
Chicago Bears defensive lineman Johnson points the finger at everyone for his multiple run-ins with police and flat-out refuses to apologize

It is an insult to all parents to imply that children can be defended only with guns.
You are right Bill, I feel insulted.

Bill asks some great questions—too many of them stay unanswered.

Personally I’d prefer if those players that are in trouble with the law face the same treatment as every other criminal. The message many can see is: As long as you are famous or rich enough—crime does pay.

The Chicago Bears still have the chance to do the right thing: Send Tank back home. But when everything is about money and money only—do you think that ethics and morals still are of any value?

Personally I question the judgment of a judge making a rule while clearly expressing his feelings about the Chicago Bears. One has to wonder how his ruling would have looked like when the player in question would be playing for the Indianapolis Colts…

How many criminals and lawyers will now ask to be treated the same way: “I need to go to another state for some important business…” ?

What happened to leadership?

What happened to be a role model to the Youth?

No matter who wins the game - who is really loosing here?

I agree that he shouldn’t be treated differently just because the Bears need him in the Super Bowl. On the other hand he hasn’t been proven guilty of anything yet. I think it’s a difficult call.

[…] to learn new things? Without passing a judgement? Maybe so in some places, but if you remember the judge who allowed Tank Johnson to play (can you imagine a judge ruling in a criminal case wearing the shirt of his favorite team?)—[…]

Because I value your thoughtful opinions, I encourage you to add them.
