Gun laws

Usually I do not have a lot do with the comments, but after the previous posting it has been a bit different.
Some very personal attacks which I am sure even the posters would regret after a few days. My apologies to those whose comment got censored. The purpose of my posting was to help people think and start a discussion—not another war.
Please let’s just leave it at that.
Gun laws are a difficult topic to discuss. But not in the way we can see right now all over the news and the blog-sphere. Being radical about one point of view has never been the right thing and always makes it difficult to deal with different opinions. That aside, neither guns for all nor the total banning of guns will do us any good. We all know that even in countries with tougher gun laws people are able to get a gun and run amok. Plus, what some people love to overlook is the fact that not everyone is using guns. They also built bombs, use knifes and everything else that comes to their minds as a suitable weapon.
Politicians in other countries loved to point at the US—saying that all the violence here is caused by the existing gun laws. That all changed the moment violence hit their territory.
While I am not blaming President Bush—what better time than now to get some changes done? I think he is missing out on a good opportunity here.
Let’s face it: Violence is too much part of our daily life as that we should continue to avoid dealing with it. Not just in front of our door, but worldwide. It’s easy to point to a single person and insist that it was just that persons failure—but society has also failed that person. In one way or another.
Let’s work together and change the world to be a less violent place.

We owe that our children and their future, wouldn’t you agree?

Better parenting and spending more family time together to imprint the proper morals into their children.
It’s the violents people are exposed to these days that brings out the worst.
