First they are loosing meals by the millions: Doubled its estimate of the number of prepared meals lost during the 2006 hurricane season because of storage problems to 13.4 million, up from the 6 million it reported earlier.
An estimated $70 million loss in taxes!
And then this:
“an unfortunate administrative processing error at FEMA . . . has resulted in the printing of Social Security numbers on the outside address labels of Disaster Assistance Employee (DAE) . . . reappointment letters.”
This isn’t the first time that official letters had the SSN printed on the outside. And I am sure it will not be the last time. Do you think any testing was done before the processing? More likely not—probably somebody figured they could save the taxpayer a few pennies by avoiding to test. Well thank you—that “saving” costs us now big time!
“We don’t have the rated facilities, management structure or the know-how to make sure that the meals and products that we buy are adequately managed . . . [to later] meet approved standards for consumption,” [Logistics director Eric] Smith said.

High time for a change—don’t you agree?
Would your business waste money like some Federal agencies do?
What do you think how many business are run in the way some Federal agencies are run?
