Isn’t it sad that it is getting more and more difficult to find a great mentor? Somebody actually willing to put up time and effort - without expecting anything back in return (especially money) - to help you succeed in your life!
I have mentored someone for almost 6 years. We used to work at the same places, sometimes for the same company, sometimes not. I even considered him a friend.
Boy was I wrong! When I was forced to stop working together with him at the last place we worked together he disappeared in silence. He hasn’t spoken with me for way over a year. Didn’t answer to any contacts I made in the first few weeks.
