Those Born Poor Die Poor

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

“The poorer a person growing up, the smaller their chances to get a good education”, so the sociologist Professor Dr. Michael Hartmann of the TU (Technical University) Darmstadt, Germany. (Sorry, link in German only)

Dr. Hartmann makes the point that when growing up in poverty one does not learn the necessary business-language and misses out on the needed general education. In his opinion that’s way more important than the degree of a person.

Do you think he makes a good point?

We all have heard: You can get the person out of the trash, but not the trash out of the person…

Would you employ someone that grew up in poverty and shows that?

That’s the most ignorant theory I ever heard. :)

I’m sure it reads better in German though. I wonder if the children of Nazi’s were able to learn to adapt to cultures outside of the Nazi culture. Or What about the grandchildren of Nazi’s?

Of course they can. Anyone can improve just like anyone can get worse no matter how rich or poor they might start out.

I do think the knowledge of how to make money helps people that have to make it again as its essentially a repeat and yes its tough to climb out of poverty but it is possible.
