My”sex”Space?

If you have a MySpace profile you are well aware of the flood of adult spam messages; besides a lot of other spam…

MySpace.com has found more than 29,000 registered sex offenders with profiles on the popular social networking Web site - more than four times the number cited by the company two months ago, officials in two states Tuesday.

But how many will it really be? After all, MySpace is limited in their way of verifying the data of a new or existing account holder. The way bigger issue is that
  1. way to many criminals use and abuse the anonymousness of the web
  2. most site owner are not able to identify criminals within a reasonable amount of time and costs

What we all have to be afraid of is that instead of proper education the cry after more bureaucracy; government regulations and the like. What I wonder is why so many concentrate on MySpace.com but ignore the tirades of other sites out there that aren’t better in any way…

Are you educating your children, relatives, friends, … ?
