Liar, Liar - pants on fire!

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

Employees are supposed to not lie to their employers, but what about employers?

Roughly a year ago my wife—holder of a top secret clearance got contacted by a company willing to employ her. For my wife it came at a perfect time. So she said yes. She went through all the paperwork again, submitted everything (when you ever filled out the paperwork for a clearance you know what I am talking about). She even got an acceptance letter.

Surprise, surprise, a few weeks later that company let her know that my wife’s clearances had been denied, because of foreign relatives.

Now since these are relative she always had—she contacted Senator George Allen who was very helpful and found out something very interesting!
From the official answer from DSS (Defense Security Service):
… DSS has received no request to process Ms. … for a Top Secret clearance from that company. It is unclear why she was not approved for that position;…

I am speechless.
