How Is This Not Screwing The Consumer?

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

Today’s news is Oil prices decline as tensions ease between the U.K. and Iran.

At the same time the gasoline price goes up.

Haven’t we always been told that the gasoline price goes up and down in relation to the oil price? And please spare me the comment of: “It takes time for the gasoline price to change when the oil price changes.” Because that is only true when the oil price falls, but never when the oil price goes up.

Shouldn’t our politicians step in and stop this price hike that makes a handful wealthier but at the same time hurts an economics that is not running at its best? But then again—we saw after hurricane Katrina how that worked out…

Do you think that the oil companies will ever pass on savings to the consumer?

Is pleasing the stockholders no matter what a model that outlives itself?

Are you starting to wonder how many disasters are created—to get more publicity, reasons to increase prices, et cetera?
