Governor Legs in New Jersey

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

For the third time in row a New Jersey Governor broke a leg while in office. Maybe time to add a bonus for special dangers on the job?

Well, at least in the case of Gov. Jon Corzine the leg could still be intact, if, yes if only he had followed the law.
But doctors and state officials did not mince words in discussing Corzine’s situation after an accident that appears to have been much worse than initially reported, with the unbelted Corzine jettisoned from the front passenger seat into the back of the vehicle.

The state trooper driving the car, and an aide in the back seat, had apparently been wearing seat belts and were not seriously hurt.

When two do the same thing, it is not the same thing after all.
–Publilius Syrus

Isn’t it funny how always is pointed out that the motorist got fined? (Seat belts are mandatory for everyone in front seats in New Jersey; the fine for violating the law is $46.) But there is nothing about Corzine been fined. Nor the trooper that was driving.
