Four Ways to Increase Employee Satisfaction

© Copyright Frank D. Kanu 2000-2008

  1. Offer Training
A great many employees think that they are not ready for the challenges ahead of them. Most think that they could perform better if they just had the proper training.
Hand in hand with this goes that managers take more time to discuss the way ahead with their employees.

Do you think that companies offer enough training for their employees?

  2. Retirement
Many feel insecure about what they will have once retired. They do not understand what will be paid and how it will be paid. This is a great opportunity for employers to not only add value but also increase the loyalty of their employees.

How many companies do you know that help their employees with financial retirement planning?

  3. Quality of work
Many employees have no ideas how they perform and how their performance is seen; how much they are appreciated. Sure, there are annual or bi-yearly reviews, but how much value do they really have?

How much honest and constructive feedback have you received during one of the reviews?

  4. Health
    Mens sana in corpore sano
Healthy employees are better employees. Make sure the working environment is healthy (often overlooked is the quality of computer monitors). And it includes to make sure that people do take the needed rests / vacations. Sorry Donald [Trump], but your opinion is the typical slavery mentality. Leaders know and understand that taking breaks is important to improve productivity.

How many employers do you know that offer health courses (weight loss, stop smoking, et cetera) to their employees?
