Endless? Paper

Many years ago—in rather ancient times when there were still matrix printers—a sales manager would sit down once a month to write and print invoices. The typical bill had a lengthy list of used materials and was roughly 50 pages long.
After hours of work he sat back, chooses the print option from the menu, made a phone call and then walked into the secretary’s office to check on the printing progress. Imagine his surprise when seeing that the printer is out of paper and sadly hammering the cylinder:
“I thought the printer uses endless paper?”
