Bratkartoffeln

Sometimes a side dish and sometimes used as main dish. What you need are cooked potatoes, either sliced or diced. You need a pan - best will be one of those heavy iron pans. Get the pan really hot and add some oil and some butter. You want to fry the potatoes in it, getting one side crusty will leaving the other side smooth. It takes around 15-20 minutes, but you need to stir frequently to not burn the potatoes.

turn pepper into a sauce

Easily done, yet very colorful!

Get one bell pepper—red, green or yellow.
Clean it, dice it and fry it for a few minutes in hot olive oil. Then add some sugar, salt and pepper. Add around half a cup of whipping cream and let it simmer for twenty to thirty minutes.

Blend it and you have a wonderful tasting and very colorful sauce.

fast food?

While searching for recipes I came across a page stating that macaroni & cheese is fast food.

I always do them from scratch—and it sure does take me more then just five minutes…

Do you consider macaroni & cheese fast-food?

Natural flavor

A family had a Chinese cook working for them. He was creative and cooked some of the best dishes they ever had. Especially gifted when it came to pies. Still, one day they fired him. What happened?

The family throws another huge dinner party. As usual the cook is at his best and serves those marvelous pies. Everyone wondered how he just managed to make them that tasty. That’s when the little daughter spoke up: “I know! I know! He throws the dough on his bare-naked stomach—to give it that special flavor…”

Here is a link to the chocolate showpieces created for the 2004 World Pastry Team Championship held in Las Vegas in July, 2004 as well as for past championships from 1999 - on.

Not that I am able to create those marvelous pieces - but I can admire, right?
