Joe get’s a phone call from a potential employer. Which would be a good thing—except that Joe put down the times when to call him and the potential employer ignored that. Luckily for Joe he wasn’t at his present job or the situation would have become really bad for him: Cubicles and open ears everywhere.
This is impolite at least; in some cultures ignoring a request like this is seen as an offense.

Do you think that a relationship starts out well when a small request like that already get’s ignored after sending two or three e-mails?
Do you listen—or read the whole message before acting?
Wouldn’t it have been easier for the potential employer to reply and say: “I really need to talk with you ASAP. Can you please call me at your earliest convenience?”
