The power of these questions cannot be underestimated, especially if you want to lead and not manage."

Are Bailouts Doomed To Fail?

President George W. Bush, saying “our entire economy is in danger,” urged Congress to approve his administration’s $700 billion bailout proposal. external

But:

German economists talk about massive layoffs this summer. (Die Wirtschaftskrise könnte nach Ansicht von Experten im Sommer voll auf dem Arbeitsmarkt durchschlagen. external)

Japan’s economy shrank at its sharpest pace in over three decades in the final quarter of 2008 external)

Philip Greenspun ask if Job losses are due to get worse? external

Leaving us with the question if any of the bailouts implemented by many governments these past few months had any impact or not. Obviously besides the impact on the tax payers pockets!

Are politicians all over the world now more concerned with being elected and re-elected than taking care of the real problems at hand?

Are bailouts real solutions or nothing else than the desperate try of politicians to cover their asses?

What do you think?
