You Are Guilty Until Proven Innocent…

RIAA wins first-ever file-sharing case to go to trial, awarded $222,000

What really troubles me is this: RIAA plaintiffs weren’t required to show that Thomas had a file-sharing program installed on her machine or that she was even the person using the Kazaa account in question
Isn’t a major part of our judicial system that you are innocent until proven guilty?

It seems that the lines are getting really blurry here, right?

The function of leadership is to produce more leaders, not more followers.

What is more important:

throwing away a half trillion dollars in Iraq or the health of our children—especially the underprivileged and needy?

Oct. 3 — President Bush vetoed a bill Wednesday that would have renewed and expanded the state-federal health insurance program for low-income children, delivering on his threat to block a measure he has said is too costly and could lead to excessive government control of the health-care system.

Can we really afford to let children die or suffer? Let’s not forget, that children are the future of all societies. What kind of message are we sending when we make it that clear that we do not care about our own future?

Personally I’d expect more from a President. Wouldn’t you?

“I don’t want our troops feeling like I’m making decisions based on politics when lives are at stake,” he [President Bush] said. Came again? How would you as a soldier feel, knowing that your child back home has to suffer—because the Commander Guy thinks they do not need anything… ?
