If you ever thought that the taxpayers money is used to actually ensure the taxpayers safety or the taxpayers survival during a disaster—I really have to disappoint you! Neither FEMA nor FDA give a darn. FEMA is good at creating disasters and the FDA… Wait—maybe it is the FDA’s job to create a disaster for FEMA: The Food and Drug Administration has known for years about contamination problems at a Georgia peanut butter plant and on California spinach farms that led to disease outbreaks that killed three people, sickened hundreds, and forced one of the biggest product recalls in U.S. history, documents and interviews show. Overwhelmed by huge growth in the number of food processors and imports, however, the agency took only limited steps to address the problems and relied on producers to police themselves, according to agency documents. WOW! Overwhelmed. Hmm, yes. Exactly. That’s the fit for a micromanager who has no vision or plan. One of the 13 sins in Stop Telling… Start Leading! The Art of Managing People by Asking Questions is: Let Everything Go UncontrolledTrusting the team (FEMA) or producers (FDA) doesn’t mean giving up control. The issue for most managers isn’t whether to exert control, but how to do it. But I guess when one is too busy micromanaging—one can’t be really be bothered with controlling anything. And we all know that the tax-money comes in no matter what… What are the FDA employees eating? And their families? As usual —there is no leadership and the blame game is in full throttle. Over the past few years many thinks have gone wild. Maybe there have been times when it has been worst, but wouldn’t you agree that there has seldom be a time during which it was so obvious? That Jane and John Doe do not matter anymore —as long as there are some who can

“They came for the communists, and I did not speak up because I wasn’t a communist; They came for the socialists, and I did not speak up because I was not a socialist; They came for the union leaders, and I did not speak up because I wasn’t a union leader; They came for the Jews, and I didn’t speak up because I wasn’t a Jew. By now we all know about the challenges some face because of increased mortgage debts, but what I find way more alarming is that raising health care costs put more and more people into debt; especially the older: Personal bankruptcy filings by people 55 and older are growing faster than those by any other age group, in part because of rising mortgage debt and medical expenses among seniors, a study published yesterday concludes. Wasn’t health care a major issue during the election process of the last presidency? “When it comes to health care, Senator Kerry’s prescription is bigger government with higher costs,” Bush said. “My reforms will lower costs and give more control and choices to the American people.” I don’t know if people have now more choices or not, but two things are plain as the nose on your face: Cost have risen (why else would people get bankrupt?) and some of the choices offered have been very troublesome—especially for the elderly. With the baby boomers starting to approach the age group of 55 and older—this seems like another disaster to happen. Is the Iraq war that much more important that politicians forget about everything else?Tags:age group baby boomers bankrupt bigger government with higher costs choices costs health care health care costs health worth i don t know i dont know iraq war medical expenses mortgage debt mortgage debts personal bankruptcy filings politicians presidency president bush senator kerry seniorsTechnorati (All Links are external): age group baby boomers bankrupt bigger government with higher costs choices costs health care health care costs health worth i don t know i dont know iraq war medical expenses mortgage debt mortgage debts personal bankruptcy filings politicians presidency president bush senator kerry seniors leadership politics Archives and Links | ||
