Why is it that some powdered sugar on the roads leads to snow closing of almost everything? Is an inch or two really that much of a disaster that the public life has to be shut down?
When I was in school there was no closing even with a foot of new snow overnight… I drove a car on summer tires over the Austrian Alps - passing many 4WD; some with snow chains…
I even watched this one guy with snow chains on less then an inch of snow!
